how many frames is this , i read the elemental magic book volume 2(amazing book imrpoved my art in other areas just by reading it ) and when i try to references from there my explosions look kinda bad like this [link] 24 frames the effect was very rushed , but i feel like when i reference explosion from another anime screen shot picture and do my own thing it looks 10 times better
I was workin at 12fps on this one. In total there were 31 drawings/frames (Though i'm starting to experiment with 24fps) Since you were workin at 24fps, it probably is going to go really fast! I guess it just depends a lot on your timing skills (it's a very hard thing to grasp, i'm still workin on it!) I'd say get some anime reference, pause it and go frame by frame. Then you can actually see how and what they animate to get their desired effect. (oh look at some actual ref of explosions too!)
oh man. i love u man! -and im a dude what just happened?! last time i checked, u were doing cghub challenges + some mtg stuffs. and now ur in animation too! -im definitely looking forward to more of that. keep it up! hahaa
WOW! I can't do such complicated forms, I just go like this: [link] Could you recomend any material for studying explosions and this kind of stuff? Of course I should improve in drawing as well, but the animation part seems a total riddle to me.
thanks for linking that book , i just finished reading it , amazing book for elemental special effect animations , i can totally see where this animation posted here is coming from , i learned alot about drawing period just from that book too , i read volume 2
Dude– what the fuck. How are you, someone who's self-teaching as a hobby, better than EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN MY ANIMATION CLASS WHO IS ACTUALLY GOING TO SCHOOL FOR THIS SORT OF SHIT?! God. I am so ashamed of where the animation industry seems to be heading. Too many dipshits who can't actually draw/animate/do shit are trying to wedge themselves in it. Great job. I think you just earned yourself another watcher.
haha Thanks! hm i'm not really sure how to answer that. I just really like animation! Totally in awe of it. I always wanted to do it, so I thought, stuff it i'll teach myself. (New Zealand has.. 1 animation school?) Where abouts do you go?
An Art Institute in the United States. Of course, they don't have portfolio requirements at these schools, so I suppose that has a big part to do with it... I don't know what it'd be like at more prestigious art schools.
